Responsible E-mail Marketing is Stimulating Topic for Meetup

July 27, 2007

Quinn Interactive hosted its latest SF Bay Area Website Managers and Marketing Meetup (the first in its new offices) focusing on responsible e-mail marketing, reviewing legal compliance for e-marketing, and considering high-quality tools available in the marketplace.

Phil Quinn, president, and Fred Condo, chief engineer, focused the discussion by highlighting the challenges and solutions for creating successful, effective and responsible online marketing. Condo stressed the compliance factor by reviewing relevant portions of the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act), the federal law governing online marketing. In particular, he stressed the critical opt-in sections that impact mail-list management and targeted recipients.

Quinn highlighted two major players in the e-marketing world: CampaignMonitor and MailBuild, both services of the Australian company Freshview. Both options offer marketers easy-to-use content management and robust statistics that make e-marketing campaigns simple to implement with valuable use analysis.

The next SF Bay Area Website Marketing and Managers Meetup will address blogs and how to use them effectively in e-marketing campaigns.
